Conscious sedation is an anesthetic procedure, complementary to the local anesthesia injected by the dentist or surgeon, which consists of the administration of a combination of drugs (sedatives and analgesics) during the entire duration of the intervention, whose purpose is to obtain a state of relaxation, drowsiness and absence of pain that allows the patient to cope with their treatment without feeling fear or anxiety or perception of the time elapsed, allowing collaboration with the professional and thus reducing the time of the intervention.
Sedation can be performed with different methods depending on the complexity of the treatment and the needs of the patient.
